In an effort to squeeze every last minute of fun out of summer, we had one last trip planned.
The last trip of the 2017 summer travel season was way up north to Phelps, WI. (If you've been "up north" you read that with a Canadian accent and you would be correct, it's always great to hear the long o's) Our gracious hosts in paradise were Bryan's aunt and uncle, Bruce and Margie.
Our travel companions were Anthony and Tina and the girls-well from Lincoln at least.
We stopped at the Mall of America on our way. A first for all of us. It was large and we can now say we have seen it. Not sure we will be planning another trip just to see it, but at least we can say we have!
We knew in looking at the weather forecast, our first day was likely to be the warmest so once we arrived at the cabin, we got out on the water for some swimming, jet-skiing and swimming.
The sun took a little while to get out, but when it did, it made for a wonderful afternoon at the sand bar.
No one hopes for a rainy day on a vacation, but that is what we got and we had an unexpectedly great day. We spent the day playing Game of Phones and Heads Up, taking naps and eating. We remembered that rainy days make great excuses to catch up on reading too.
On our final day, most of the crew went fishing.
We wrapped up our trip with a trip to Bent's Camp. When you have a 1 1/2 hour wait, it gives you time to show off your Heads Up skills.
