Another Day, Another Adventure

We spend most of our free time on one adventure or another. Whether it is checking out a new vacation destination and marking another state off our list, or trying out something new, there is never a dull moment-and we wouldn't have it any other way.

Last Hurrah!

Look what I found unpublished from August!!

With school starting this week, we took the opportunity to have some fun before embarking on another school year. We did some school shopping and found a balloon artist that was quite good at her job.

We had a DELICIOUS dinner at Cranelli's. It was a very little place, but the service was great and the food was wonderful. If you are ever in the tech center area of Denver, I recommend stopping in.
We met up with family to swim at the hotel, but we didn't get any pictures of it. Our ears are still ringing from all of the screaming and laughing!
We then headed on to spend some time with the Peetz family. Joe and Patrece are getting married this September and they had a small reception in Greeley at Weldwerks Brewery. We had a great time visiting with cousins and enjoying great food and beer.

At the end of the evening, the boys went home with Grandma and Grandpa Hanson for some more fun before school.
It was fun making memories before we start on the adventure of 4th grade and the last year of preschool!

Another project done

Well, it has been a long time since anything has been posted on this site. It is not for lack of events.  We've had various sports, events and holidays since our vacation in June, but writing just hasn't been at the top of the priority list.

Ever since we moved into this house, we wanted to do something with the laundry room/mud room area:
Isn't it beautiful???
Full disclosure: Bryan wanted to do it all by ourselves and Laura wanted to hire it all done.  Bryan won. Just wanted that to go on the record.
So, we spent some time over Christmas break with Leslie at Menards and we designed our new space. Then, we forgot about it for a few weeks until our cabinets came in and then the pressure was on. We picked out a color to match the counter and the painting fun began.
Sam figured out a way to avoid getting paint on your clothes
This may have been when Bryan started to question the paint color
We have some excellent help (the little ones at least)
The paint is done...and Bryan is questioning the color choice
After the paint dried, it was time to bring in the cabinets.  We had to take the door off to get the big one in and we were both silently wondering if the cabinet was going to fit and what the heck we were going to do if it didn't...
The good Lord was watching over us and it fit. WHEW!!!!!
It all fits!!
Fast forward about a month when the countertops came in. They came in right before Laura left for Omaha (big surprise, one of us was out of town!). Then this happened:
Yes, that is the countertop NOT fitting.  DI-Why????
After some deep breaths (and maybe a couple beverages...I'm not sure-I wasn't there) Bryan made it work:
In is in! Nothing some curtains won't hide
Nearly finished

Just a few more finishing touches and here is the final product:
Curtains are up!
It was a longer project than we had imagined, but we now have a laundry room that looks nice and is functional.

Off to the next adventure!
